Memorial day…..Today’s post is meant to create introspection, peace and remembrance. I come from a military family. My Great Grandfather in WWI, Grandfather in WWII, Father in the Korean War. All my uncles on my Dad’s side have served. I do not like war and it goes against everything in my spirit. I understand it, but I do not like that it exists. What I can appreciate are the men and women who selflessly serve us. To those who have fallen….thank you for your service….may you rest in peace….

Si vis pacem, para bellum – if you wish peace, prepare for war.
I had two Grandfathers and one Great Grandfather fight in the Great War (they all came home, but the fiancée of a Sister of one of them didn’t). In his later years my then surviving Grandfather talked about the war and he was adamant that the Kaiser had to be stopped, and if fighting was the only way to do then it had to be done.
We all know someone who hasn’t made it back or in our history…..Thank you for stopping by.
