I get asked that question often. A lot of people I know love to travel. My In-Laws just got back from Africa recently. A good friend had an adventure in Cuba last month. My husband lived in Indonesia for a few years. And the list goes on. I like the “idea” of traveling more than the actual experience. I love to “see” the world and wish there was a way to beam myself to various locals just long enough to take it in. Bypassing the long flights, nasty airports, restrooms….sleeping in strange place. Odd food. I am not exactly a homebody though. I’ve been to a few places as far away as Hawaii which is pretty far considering I live in Florida. And I have been to many cities all over the United States, but I have never been to another country. I’ve got plans….. I know it isn’t too far, but Canada is the first place I want to visit off of U.S. soil. Where have you been? And where do you want to go?
Pick your spot on one of my colorful maps….

You and I seem to be on the same wavelength today – about travel that is. I said just these words yesterday – I wish I could beam to where I am going. I hate the actual physical task of traveling. Perhaps this is because I grew up in a military family where I moved every 18 months until the age of 20! I was actually born in another country and then was shipped off to Asia! I have lived in over 30 states of the US! BUT now I love being a hjome body. Maybe I reached my quotient of travel? Mostly, but for various reasons I want to return to Italy. But how do I get there without traveling by boat or plane spending hours and hours? think, think, think! So my pick for your beautiful new art map is Florence Italy! Wonderful post, fantastic art!
I’ve heard it is gorgeous there…and the food is not ODD….I could totally gorge in Italy. 🙂
You’re welcome to come along! Think of all the amazing art YOU could do, we could do!! 🙂
We will waddle to the easels together. 😉
I am with you on this one 🙂 Beam me up Sharon….
Canada can be fun and also really cold. We used to go skiing there all the time.
Oh yeah…I am thinking Summer for Canada. 🙂

Thanks Bo!
Did you know I’ve been ‘visualizing’ my very own Star Trek transport room for YEARS now?! lol! Flying doesn’t bother me – a good thing since I traveled to Sweden 2x a year for 16 years – but in the last few years many things associated with air travel have become tedious. Passport control lines that take forever are a pet peeve so just yesterday I filed an application for a Global Entry pass. With this in hand, I’ll be able to zip right through and I know I’ll be a much happier camper!
That sounds so much better!
PS My pick on your map is Norway. I’m headed there in July to sail on the last leg. Fredrikstad-Bergen. of the 2014 Tall Ships race. Go Global Entry!
What a fun adventure for you! Can’t wait to see the photographic journey. 🙂 I will live vicariously through you….
I think I’ll live vicariously thru Jo Ann too! Wow that sounds fun. But for me, I like flying, to me that concept is still amazing, but, that’s also cause I don’t fly very much, so it’s still an adventure for me. So many places I would like to go, New Zealand, Italy, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Ireland. Most likely won’t see any of those places in person. But I find, there’s still so much to see here in the states! So much beauty, I can’t wait to go back to the Pacific Northwest coast, and Glacier National Park!
I agree that the U.S. has so much beauty to offer! There are many places I still want to go here too. :0)
What a great post – another I’m catching up on! So much I want to see here at home but I still want to get back to the UK and Austria, down to Australia and N.Z. But I suspect I’ll just be doing that vicariously now.
