While I was working on my Three Birds piece yesterday the wheels started turning and I wondered if this could become a series. Why yes it can! More colorful Spring images on the way. 🙂 I created the hummingbird and hibiscus in this piece well over a year ago. People seem to like it with a white background, but I like the added interest the colors and patterns make.
I’ve got so many images to list right now it is crazy. I still have a dozen pieces from my Transforming Energy series to get online plus another dozen or so maps. And then there are photos! If only one hour of sleep was enough!

Good for you – you’re a whirlwind of energy Sharon! Love this one too. Shared.
And I need to finish painting the laundry room! We have been painting one room at a time ever since the rat was in my studio…we started there…and figured it was a good time to clean/organize and paint! Whew!
Snowing here today. This gives me hope knowing that spring will eventually arrive.
Beautiful and wonderful colors.
Snow…it’s like a foreign language to me. 😉 But we’ve got pollen a plenty here in Florida…it’s kinda like snow only it’s yellow and fills your lungs. 😉 Yes hold on…Spring is coming!
Great title, birds and the bees!
Thank you!
beautiful work.
Thank you Sedge!
What kind of paper did you use? The texture in the background is gorgeous. I had to zoom in to make sure it wasn’t linen.
Hi Crystal…..thank you for stopping by my blog. The background is a “stock” image that I worked Photoshop magic on. The bird, bee and flower are from my Labor of Love series (handpainted with acrylic) but then used to create bird shapes for this piece. I absolutely LOVE using my art to create more art. 🙂 The computer is like a whole new magical studio where I can take paintings I created years ago and bring them new life such as this one!
So if a person buys your art, what form does it take? Do they get the image file?
I do license my work and sell image files for specific uses. I charge by single use. So if someone wanted to use an image for their website, business cards and brochures that would be considered 3 separate uses and we would draw up a contract for both of us to sign which would spell out exactly how the image would be used and the fee for each use. I’ve never sold my copyrights to anyone for any image, but I would consider it if the price was right. But most people buy prints of pieces like this. You can get them on acrylic resin, metal, paper and canvas through Fine Art America. For my acrylics on canvas/yupo I also sell originals on Etsy.
There is an image at the bottom of the post that you can click on where it says “buy a print starting at 17.00” and I also have a “buy prints” tab at the top of my blog. You can click on the “Paintings” tab to see originals for sale on Etsy. And you can click on the “Commissions” tab if you are looking for custom work. 🙂
