I like to walk around with my camera just seeing what I can find. I love old buildings and garbage piles because often the most interesting photos are there. These beauties were growing proud all along an abandoned restaurant. They were not in neat little rows, but wild and rangy. They were large flowers, so I do not think they are weeds.
Do you know what type of flowers these are?

there are some ‘flower identification’ apps online – google
that present a list of descriptions to narrow the searches
If no one knows…I will try those apps when I am back home and not doing everything from my phone.
They sure are cute!
They look like they’re a type of Snapdragon to me.
That’s what I thought Abigail…..but looking at snapdragons they don’t look the same….
They are a wildflower called “jack in the pulpit” I think. Sometimes they come a tad more orange. We have a whole field of them in the summer – often they like marshy ground as much as dry. These do look a tad more “nourished” than the ones I usually see.
Love that you’re enjoying yourself!! Great shot.
Hmmm…I googled that and they don’t look like what I saw. ..but thanks for trying. 🙂
Could they be bird’s foot trefoil?
Nope…they are Showy Rattlebox!!
I’ve no idea what botanical name they have, but they certainly are beautiful :)!
I found them! Showy Rattlebox.
Sharon very cool. I haven’t seen these before. They looked somewhat like the wild sweetpeas!
So right! They are legumes and produce pea pods. 🙂

stunning
Thank you!
I’ve never seen them either but they’re beautiful. They look like a pansy crossed with something else entirely:) Not a clue.
I finally found them online! Showy Rattlebox!!
