When I was a little girl in kindergarten, one of my earliest memories is my teacher asking all of us what we thought the moon was made of. I boldly exclaimed “Swiss cheese”!! And everyone started cracking up. It wasn’t because I thought that our lunar orb was a stinky hunk of fermented milk. I simply loved to make people laugh. Mission accomplished. 🙂
As I make my way around Casey Key, FL right now on foot, I have started collecting these interesting little rocks. Their shapes and holes remind me of Swiss cheese and I was taken back to my childhood and that warm feeling that comes from giving others delight.
I am not sure why these rocks have so many holes and impressions, but they are so interesting to look at and feel. The surface is so smooth. Our ocean is amazing….
Be back soon!

These are so cool Sharon! I’m hoping some wonderful artwork gets inspired by these great beach finds!
I’ve never seen so many like these on one beach! Indeed cool. 🙂
Super cool indeed! My favorite find, though getting oh so rare anymore, are sand dollars!

That sounds like fun!
Jo Ann had it right – it looks like a Swiss cheese series is on the horizon….we can hope!! You know – this fits fabulously with your ston’d rock art!! Love this story!
Thank you Lianne!
Sharon…I can’t believe you posted this. The same day you did I was on the beach and collected 4 of the same kind of stones…Each one was like a Rohrshach (sp) Test…There was a face…A dog… (don’t remember the other two right now) anyway I was going to post that day but got a call my Mom was in the hospital. I may post it one day, but I just thought it was such a coincidence that we both would (almost) post the same kind of rocks on the same day!
That is a really cool coincidence! They are such interesting stones….I think I will display mine as a reminder of the ocean…my true home. 🙂
I have to remember where I put mine! Have a great weekend Sharon!
Remembering where I put things…..a common problem! LOL You too have a great weekend Lorrie!
I see a new series of artwork emerging from these shells!
