They sizzle.
They turn.

Enjoy this Summertime treat from my Mother-in-law Betty Cummings. She was inspired by a walk along Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, Florida. She used bright colors in her oils to achieve this tropical look. I am so fortunate to own some of her original work. And now everyone can enjoy prints too!
Perfect. I spent a college summer in Martha’s Vineyard in 1984 and saw pale young caucasian beauties turn brown. I now wonder how their health fares and if they understood their Faustian bargain for burnt skin.
Hi Rudy…I’ve never been one to lay out myself….The sun has a lot of healing properties…..but I am betting their skin looks like prunes now. 😉
What a fun image!
Yes I love Betty’s whimsy!

Ah memories….I used to be such a sun worshiper and now I’m paying the price. Back in the 70’s-80’s it was fashionable to be tan. I worked at it too. Sometimes I used crisco when I ran out of baby oil! EEWWWEEE! Now I’ve had many precancerous spots and more are on the way.
I only got a tan one Summer just to see if I could….it was enough! LOL
omg sometimes all you could see were my eyes and teeth!
Superb capture and poem Sharon – made me smile 🙂
Yes…my MIL Betty has a great eye!
