Everyone who knows me is well aware of how quickly I process. I think fast. I drive fast. And I paint even faster. When I work with acrylics, my work goes in a furious fashion. It’s all over in a matter of minutes usually. There are the huge beasts that require many hours, but the majority of my work is a race to the finish line. It’s just how I roll.
People have the mistaken idea that digital work is easy. It’s true that running something through a filter does not take much effort. But this little cutie took me over 5 hours to create. It is collage work and bit by tiny bit I form the image using one of my original paintings. Cutting and pasting….cutting and pasting….trimming….adding….tweaking…..It’s maddening in a way. Kind of like O.C.D. (which I have been clinically diagnosed with). I definitely have this disorder (in more ways than one)! Obsessive Creativity Disorder.
Enjoy my madness!

Obsessive Creativity Disorder LOL! Comes in handy when you’re you eh? I do things fast too but for me it’s imperative I slow down. It’s one of my lessons in life!
Yeah…I don’t move as fast as I used to either. 😉 The “new” OCD is better than the old….I used to keep my house obsessively clean and I counted everything. The Art creating and marketing has replaced those. I think that is a positive move. No one really gave a poo about my house and counting got me nowhere…LOL
I can relate! I’ve switched to photography and photoshop. I used to be obsessively clean also. Now I have housekeepers hahaha.
I had housekeepers, but they kept damaging my baseboards and furniture….So now we all pitch in. It isn’t spotless….But I am o.k. with that these days. 🙂
Well I kinda have to. It’s hard for me to kneel with these two knee replacements. They broke something my dad gave me and that bummed me out but at least I have a clean house twice a month lol.
Yeah….It’s always about trade offs. Sorry about your knees. My hands are starting to have issues, but I will just plug along as long as I can. 🙂
Chugging here too. 🙂
Cute!

AWWWW!!!! I just rescued a Shih Tzu from the shelter! Koda is still learning that no one is going to hurt him any more, and it is a slow process, but he is getting there! Sat in my lap while I read this afternoon, which is a win. This is SOOOOO cute!!

Aww! My Koda, the Shih Tzu I rescued from the shelter, is learning that I won’t hurt him (slowly) —- he is sooo cute. And this is truly “Obsessive Creativity Disorder” – but well worth the time in my opinion! Thanks, Sharon!
Great for you! And great for Koda! We only adopt rescue dogs. Right now we have 2 yellow labs and a std. poodle. The std. poodle was a real sad case and it took years for her to learn how to love and play….But it’s so rewarding! Thank you for the reblog too!
You are very welcome! And good for you as well! I have always liked standard poodles, but I think “big” dogs won’t be coming around any more. Cuddlers are more my style these days.
