About Me

HugeSS1

Thank you for your interest in me and my artwork!  Besides creating, we run a sustainable homestead in Florida.  I live with my loving husband, 2 amazing dogs, 2 cats, 7 miniature cows, 3 Nigerian Dwarf goats and 15 chickens.  All of our animals are spoiled.  We grow our own food.  With a history in academia, and at our age, we do not fit the typical people that would choose this lifestyle.  But we wanted a deeper connection to Mother Earth and the sustenance she gives us.  We wanted to be accountable.  It’s not an easy life, but it is a satisfying one.  We support our community and neighbors and show love and kindness toward all people.  It’s who we are.

I have been selling online for many years and I absolutely love it!  While art shows and gallery installations are wonderful outlets for displaying my work, the internet has allowed me to sell my original paintings and prints to thousands of collectors worldwide. Everyone should be able to buy great art.  I consider myself self-taught.  True talent is revealed not through schooling but through painting and creating.  I have a strong affection for abstract art, but also enjoy impressionism and mixed media works.   Collage is something I have been experimenting with for awhile now.  Animas are a favorite subject!  I create something almost every day!

Collectors rave about the quality of my work.  Each piece is produced using only the best quality paints, canvas, and mediums. Every painting that I ship out is a piece I would hang in my own home.  My printing partners have been carefully screened to insure that my standards of quality are met.  My art is created for people with a true appreciation for exceptional craftsmanship and high-end materials.

Art is not a luxury….it brings joy to the beholder.  It creates mood and atmosphere in homes and offices.  It completes every inner space.  Thank you for learning more about me.

I look forward to building a relationship with you!

  6. Sharon, I love your work. Really. It has a Kandinsky-esque quality about the color and line, while still being naturalistic. And thanks for the like on “Wooden Ships”.

  11. Hello Sharon, thank you for stopping by on my blog. It feels great to see someone like you enjoy my blog. I looked at some of your paintings and they are really beautiful and they are so different. I like painting but I enjoy more of writing and I recently had my book published too. It is all about my motorcycle trip to the North of India which I did last year.

  12. It’s a pleasure to meet you. Sorry it took so long to get back here, but with Military Appreciation Month, I have been inundated with e-mails. (Your Gravatar photo is a hoot!)

  13. Thanks for stopping along your way. You’re very talented. Good luck with your work.

  14. Amazing creative Blog, nice place ,i invite You to my dungeon, REGARDS

  15. Some very nice art indeed. My wife and I are both very attracted to abstract art, it’s color and design and possibilities seem endless, even as we have someone in our family that is famous for Impressionistic style of art (Lynn Gertenbach), we enjoy all types of artistic expression ( music, writing, theater etc). Thanks for following my posts, I intend to do the same.

While writing is my passion now, I was an art major way back in college and had a career that included 20+ years in graphic design. Love the way you’ve used the Internet to bring your work to people who otherwise may not find you. All the best.

    • My great pleasure Nancy….the Internet is what has given me a career instead of a hobby. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by my blog. Always glad to hear when someone is following their passion…keep on writing!

  18. Great artistic ability you have. 🙂 Thank you, for reading my blog and I wish you continued success with your artwork.

Hi Sharon, my daughter Louisa (Who is 6) has been set a homework from school to choose her favourite painting and artist, and research them. She has chosen you, and particularly loves your sunsets. She has chose 16 of your pictures to make a presentation for school, and now needs to make a mini project on you and try to make a copy of one of your pictures. She has chosen the golden pear.
I wonder if you would consider sending her an encouraging message as she will present her project to her class next week. Many thanks Nicky (Mum) Dorset, England

    • Nicky……I just cannot approve this. No one is teaching children that it is illegal to copy an artists artwork. I fear we are raising children to believe it’s ok. It is not ok.

    • If you give me an email what I will do is explain to her in simple terms that she can understand what copyright law is and that she should not try to copy my work….Instead she should paint a yellow pear with her own flair. I’d be delighted to educate children. I wish teachers would too!

my email is ********* Thank you, she would like to add that to her project.

  24. Hi Sharon, such vibrant and colorful paintings! Thank you for finding time stopping by and liking my painting!

  25. Hi Sharon. Thanks again for the reblog. We just watched a French animated movie called “The Painting”. If you have not seen it I highly recommend it. You can watch in French with English subtitles or not, or in English if you don’t like subtitles.

  29. Thanks for visiting my Rennie MacKay Quinn Abstracts website and responding to the new paintings I just posted this weekend. I’m delighted to meet you in this way and look forward to exploring this and your other sites. I’m a novice in the art of online selling. But as a self-taught artist and believer in doing things on my own, I’m eager to see what I can learn from what you share on your sites.

And I love your photo! Makes me want to bite into a flower myself.

  30. sharroncummings, nice to meet you. You have an attractive and alluring website! You kindly introduced yourself to me by “Liking” my recent WP post “One Wine (and three-quarters), Fun and Done.” Was it because of your interest in wine (that you post up front on your website cover page), or something else I mentioned in my post? I’m going to the wine country next week for vacation. Can’t wait. Just hope the ground doesn’t shake the grapes off the vines.

    • Hi Mike…I seem to be more interested in wine this week than usual. I am going through my old portfolio and found this wine piece I created in 1993. I also read the story about how Napa Valley got hit by the quake…gasp! Additionally I just bought my husband a very very nice Spanish wine for his birthday. When the sommelier said he would “fall in love” with it. I said “oh no, I don’t want him to fall in love. I just want him to like it. We can’t afford a love affair!” LOL Enjoy your trip Mike and nice to meet you. 🙂

  31. Hi Sharon –
I’m sure this won’t be the first time you’ve been nominated for this but as you are one of the people I follow most religiously I’m just dropping you a note to let you know I nominated you for a “Very Inspiring Blogger” award.

Now you don’t have to do anything. You don’t have to accept it. Its only my way of recognizing what a great job you do on your blog.

If you do want to follow up and accept this “award” then you can find my post about it with all of the steps to follow. http://seasonssongandspirit.wordpress.com/2014/09/07/very-inspiring-blogger-nomination/

Hi sharon. I would like to make a bag with one of your painting (i will print it and paste on my bag), i wanted to know if i have your permission to use this picture. I really love your art! I hope that you keep doing this precious kind of masterpiece. Regards

    • Hi Stefanie…..Thank you for your interest in licensing my artwork. And thank you for your compliments. My work is registered with the U.S. Copyright office. My Copyrights are very important to me as I earn my living with my art. It is not a hobby. I feed my family with my paintings. I charge a fee for the use of my work. It is illegal and unfair to use an artist’s work without compensating them so I appreciate that you have asked permission. I cannot grant permission for the use of my work for free. You can purchase bags legally here: https://society6.com/sharoncummings/bags Making a purchase from a living artist is the BEST way you can SUPPORT the arts!

  48. Hi I doing an R.E. project on religious art for school, your Jesus Christ how do you see me, has really inspired me. Could you tell me your inspiration and personal ideas on the painting.
For me if feels like you’ve shown how he sees the good and the bad in everyone but still loves us all. Hope you can help me. Thanks.

    • Hi Josh….Please make sure to give me proper attribution! For me the piece depicts, how some people see jesus as “white” and others as “black”. Jesus has a “race” to many and they cannot picture him any other way….In reality he was Middle Eastern. Many of his followers today would not flock to him now because he would look like one of those scary terrorist types (said with sarcasm). The piece is about hypocrisy and irony.

      • Thanks for answering. Your explanation make total sense, but I like mine as well lol. I’ll be sure to give you all the credit 😁
        Thanks again

      • Art is about personal interpretation in my opinion…That is why I do not put explanations on my listings….It is for the viewer to decide. 🙂
