I have hope for my autistic daughter, that she will continue to grow and find her way in the World. I have hope that my marriage will stay strong and filled with love all the way until the end. I have hope that my friends will find peace in their lives. I could go on…

I was shown real love as a child by two people.  My birth father and my grandmother.  If wasn’t for them, I would likely have a very warped idea of what the feeling meant.  Coming from a dysfunctional family taught me many things about people.  One is that we all show love in a unique way and that we all feel loved by different methods.  Some feel loved by words.  Others need actions.  And others still need both.  For me, I need to feel “cared for” and I need to see from the other person that they are willing to put effort into our relationship.  Make a call even though you’ve been busy.  Come over and help when I need it (pay attention to my life and offer when you see the need).  Visit me (I visit my friends and family regularly even though many of them live far away).  Send a text just to make me laugh.  Carry part of my burden whether that means a sympathetic ear sometimes or just grabbing the heavy grocery bags.  This goes for romance, family or friends.  

Gifts and mere words have never given me that deep soulful satisfaction.

Love is a messy business sometimes.  My “Hearts On Fire” painting is one of my most often requested commissions.  In the past I was only able to offer custom work and small prints of this lovely piece.  However, I have been able to digitally remaster the original to create a beautiful print.  Now love is easy to own. 🙂

It hurts when an artist has a painting returned.  For me it is very rare.  In fact, I can count on my hands the returns I’ve had in 10 years!  Considering I have shipped out over 3000 originals, those are pretty good statistics.  The piece you see here was returned recently.  That stings bad enough, but the people were nasty and mean about it.  They said it was ugly in person and that I didn’t do a good job in creating it.  They saw it as a “product” and not an expression of joy and creation.  They treated it like something they bought at Target.  I knew in my heart that they were just unhappy people inside and that nothing would satisfy them.  There would be no art from any artist good enough for them.  But it still hurt. I also knew that one day this painting would end up in it’s rightful home where it would be loved and appreciated.  That someone found this wonderful piece last week and this is what they had to say: Sharon, The piece arrived safe this morning. It is more beautiful in person than it is online. I can’t tell you how great it makes me feel. My life is turning a corner and this piece of art will be front and center. Thank you again for allowing me to purchase this piece. Thanks for bringing this light, life and beauty to my life. Yours, S.D.  I have a great gratitude.  So to the couple in Texas who returned my “Invisible Blue Sun” I want to say thank you.  Your return made someone else VERY HAPPY…….and that is priceless!

Yes indeed…..I am on fire!!  I visualized my dreams….I spoke of them as if they were already happening.  I believed.  And now I have exceeded them!  So in celebration I have digitally remastered one of my most popular pieces.  “Hearts On Fire”.  It has always been one of my favorites from my work.  The colors in this painting really “click” with me and the sizzling fire just gets me happy!  It used to only be available as a very small print, but now you can SET YOUR WALLS ON FIRE very large!  Enjoy!

Black Magic!  I have really enjoyed creating my Black Magic pieces for many years and recently I discovered a cool way to make them even cooler.  I digitally inverted them so that the black in the magic is now white.  They look totally different this way and the effects have been very popular.  These are now in homes all over the world.  Black and White is so clean and neutral.  These would look good in just about any space.  Enjoy an old favorite in a new way!
