We all think we do. Still shaken by the tragedy in my state. Just a few hours from my home. Some of my closest friends were personally affected by this hate crime. There is an art to the dance of time…Don’t waste it!

I always have to laugh when I see my Labor of Love series analyzed by other artists. They always confidently proclaim that these are painted on a black canvas. Sometimes I think they assume this because what kind of crazy person would sit there for hours circling each spiral in black? Yup, that would be me… You just cannot get “clean” lines like that painting on a black canvas. It would look sloppy and I do not do sloppy. I used to buy black paint pens by the case!

I have been away for most of the past few weeks working on registering all of my work with the U.S. Copyright Office. This has been a daunting task! With thousands of images to review, organize and upload, it has left little time for much else. But it is done. 🙂
Copyright is established as soon as a work is put into a tangible form and it has certain legal protections without registration, but having work registered gives you some extra legal leverage. It also is something that can be transferred to someone else legally like my daughter when I pass away. It will make it easier for her to take over my estate of art. But I am ready to start creating again!

What is hope? The dictionary tell us that hope is an optimistic attitude of mind based on an expectation of positive outcomes related to events and circumstances in one’s life or the world at large. Yes, I’ve got some. I have hope for an America where all citizens are equal. I have hope for my health to continue to improve. I have hope for my autistic daughter, that she will continue to grow and find her way in the World. I have hope that my marriage will stay strong and filled with love all the way until the end. I have hope that my friends will find peace in their lives. I could go on…

While I was working on my Three Birds piece yesterday the wheels started turning and I wondered if this could become a series. Why yes it can! More colorful Spring images on the way. 🙂 I created the hummingbird and hibiscus in this piece well over a year ago. People seem to like it with a white background, but I like the added interest the colors and patterns make.
I’ve got so many images to list right now it is crazy. I still have a dozen pieces from my Transforming Energy series to get online plus another dozen or so maps. And then there are photos! If only one hour of sleep was enough!

I have been a member of “Society 6” for a year and a half now. I sell well there, but have not put much into it due to lack of time. If you follow me, you know I am very active in Social Media and my blog. I also create new work daily. I am a mom and wife. I only have so many hours in the day. But I am going to focus my energy on this site for the month of March. This BENEFITS my collectors greatly! Sometimes a space cries out for a detailed landscape with trees, sky and perhaps a water feature. Other times all that is needed to make the perfect setting is color. I have always been a color junkie and the simple colorscapes are my favorite. I have been selling a lot of these lately and there is a good reason. They are on sale!
