I got a little note from the Universe today which read, “You simply cannot know, Sharon What will make others happy.  But you can always know for yourself.  Go for it….The Universe”  That’s my reminder.  I have been working really hard painting custom work for others and creating pieces for my show that I’ve neglected what makes me happiest.  Like the picture above, I need some time for myself walking along my own creative beach.  There is such a freedom in just letting the energy from your soul release itself onto whatever canvas you choose.  So I am off to do just that today. 🙂

When I take photographs, I like to either find a story or have the piece ask a question. Palm trees are everywhere in Florida and there is no great mystery to them.  But this one was all alone and one of the tallest palms I have ever seen.  High into the clouds….what is happening below?  There could be lovers sitting and chatting.  A dog could be asleep.  A bike could be propped up against it’s trunk.  It could be right on the ocean or in a parking lot.  The vibrant blue sky reveals nothing.  What story do you see?

Stone Rock’d that is…..I just cannot seem to get rid of these crabs!  Growing up in Florida, crabs have always been a big part of my life.  As a child I romped freely on Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota Florida.  Crabs would often come ashore and I was completely fascinated.  The little fiddler crabs were great fun to watch scurry about, but Stone Crabs are especially interesting because they have one claw that is significantly larger than the other.  Funny looking creatures.  A gourmet delight in many restaurants they are ecologically sustainability harvested here just for their claws.  These guys can regrow their claws so when the fishermen take one it grows back.  How cool is that!  I found it both amusing and fitting to Stone Rock a stone crab…I love to paint and create and there is no end to inspiration on our planet!  The shape for this crab was inspired by a vintage Stone Crab plate…..Learn more about my crab art here:
