I photographed him and sent him on his way to his new home in St. Thomas. Little did I know that all of these years later, my “Tropical Fish” would be so popular.
There is nothing fishy about the link below…click on it to enjoy more!

Colorful Angel Fish Mixed Media Art

2014
As I was looking through my pen and ink drawings from 25 years ago, a little light bulb went off in my head. I’ve been working on my Color Fusion series for weeks now and combining those black and whites with my acrylic painting on fabric seemed to be a marriage made in heaven. I love color, so here I go!
First I took my ink drawing and scanned it on my Brother scanner.
Then I fused my new acrylic painting on fabric onto the design using my computer. I added some background texture from a crinkled piece of paper that I scanned.
Enjoy!

Crayon and Letraset Transfers
Date: Unknown
As I continue to go through my old portfolio, I am finding a few surprises along the way. I found this guy hiding among the rubble. He is clearly created with Crayons, and for those old enough to remember, Letraset transfers.
Long ago before the advent of home computers, there was a need for an easy way to apply perfect typography and texture to images. Letraset made these plastic sheets with transfers on one side. You then applied pressure with a tool, spoon, etc. on the other and it would stick to the surface of your project. Back then, I thought it was the coolest thing ever!!
What a flashback….I should find my box of crayons. 😉

I am often asked by people if I have prints of certain paintings in my archives. So often, I do not. Ten plus years ago when I started painting and selling my art for a career, I did not have a camera that could take pictures with high enough resolution to produce quality prints. I am lucky to get small prints of some. A few have been successfully digitally remastered as well. But my “Koi” were a no go on both fronts. The piece above has been very popular for me as a commission and I absolutely enjoy painting them! However, I wanted to be able to create prints as well. So I painted one specifically for this purpose. Now this piece can be enjoyed in a massive size! Enjoi the koi!

This will be my last Stone Rock’d fish for a long while! Aren’t you glad? It’s been awfully fishy around this blog and I’ve got a hankering to get my hands wet again in some acrylic paint. This project has been fun and time consuming, but I’ve got some killer fish for my clients and for the rest of the World to enjoy too. 🙂
Happy Sunday everyone!
