Music…My First Love….

ImageI am certainly no Aphrodite, but my first love is music too.  A lot of my art reflects my natural rhythmic thinking. Patterns that move and flow.  I grew up with the sounds of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.  Later when my family moved to the country I was introduced to the sounds of Marty Robbins and Charlie Rich.  I love all music….classic rock….country….classical…50’s….60’s….70’s…80’s….contemporary pop and even some rap.  When I am painting, I am always listening to music. Sometimes I dance around with the paint brushes.  At other times I am sitting still…concentrating.  It is in these times of stillness that I prefer simple music…an acoustic guitar….a piano…solo.  Perhaps a solo guitar or just the sound of piano is to music what abstract is to art.

Making Music

I’ve been making music again.

 Visual chords.

Playing hues.

Colorful explosions of eye candy.

My instruments do…

Make sound.

But only the soul can hear it.

Hello Sharon,

We now have your work on our walls. Congrats to us!

http://blog.redbubble.com/2013/11/redbubble-sem…

Lovely to have you as part of RB and hope you have a great holiday season.

Martin (RB’s CEO) (Redbubble’s Jared holding my art)

Every artist is excited to see that they have sold a piece of artwork.  But it was especially rewarding to learn that out of the thousands and thousands (or as they say zillions) of images that RedBubble had to choose from that they picked one of mine for their new Headquarters in California.  And I got paid in FULL. 🙂  Sound the trumpets…that is cool as hell!!

There is something very musical in the way I paint.  The fluidity feels a lot like dancing.  In fact, sometimes I do dance while I work.  I always have music playing and this piece is a pure reflection of me…my art….The Dancer:

Everyone who follows me online and in real life knows that I love the beach.  I also adore anything to do with music, especially guitars.  I decided to combine the two to create one beautiful piece.  I do not have a lot to say about this work as I believe it speaks for itself…..
