I always have to laugh when I see my Labor of Love series analyzed by other artists. They always confidently proclaim that these are painted on a black canvas. Sometimes I think they assume this because what kind of crazy person would sit there for hours circling each spiral in black?  Yup, that would be me…  You just cannot get “clean” lines like that painting on a black canvas.  It would look sloppy and I do not do sloppy. I used to buy black paint pens by the case!
