Whether you are a Day of the Dead aficionado, a Harley Davidson Motorcycle rider, Grateful Dead fan or just someone who finds all of life interesting, you can see the fascination with skulls.  Whenever I see them, I like to picture what the person who used to inhabit that cranium must have looked like.  So many possibilities.  Death doesn’t have to be taboo.  It is natural and like all of life should be celebrated.  I love playing with skulls and giving them their own personality.  I have my goth side.  Living is expensive, but the price of death is cheap here:

This year is a year of “firsts” for me.  My first art show is coming up!  But I also received my first royalty check from posterservice.com .  They gave me a really nice advance for two of my guitars, so I wasn’t certain that I would ever see more.  But people really like my instruments and stores have been buying them……so a surprise check showed up in the mail. 🙂  I am currently working with another company who contacted me after they saw my work on Fine Art America. They are marketing me to some really big names and I am so excited about moving in this direction.  All of the really grueling hard work of 10 years is paying off and I couldn’t be happier. I share my triumphs so other artists can be inspired to keep going and realize that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.  And I share so all of my fans can see that their efforts to share me and promote me have been productive.  Thank you to all who follow me on my journey.  It is your support and encouragement that has kept me positive all of these years. Thank you!

I’ve been playing with music again.  I do not play musical instruments.   but I create melodies for the soul.  I adore the sound of a guitar, the beat of a drum and the vibration of piano keys in my ears, but I have never learned to master any of them.  Instead I paint and design.  To me seeing art is like “visual music”….I not only see it, but I also hear it, feel it and it resonates deep within me.  Surely in another plane of existence, we would see all of the hues of sound and we would hear all of the colors of art.  I seem to already be there…..

Please enjoy my latest addition to my music series, “The Drums” at this link:

Licensing…..every week or so, I get asked by some company to license my art work.  I have considered many, but up until now have declined.  Most outfits look unprofessional and perhaps a bit “fly by nightish”.  Some have contracts that are too restrictive which would cause me to loose control of the images they will be using.  Some have no real accountability for sales which leaves an artist open to being taken advantage of.   But yesterday I signed my first contract with http://www.posterservice.com/.  They have been in the industry for over 25 years and my work will be retailed in stores like Spencer’s gifts and College Bookstore’s.  They have chosen my guitars and I am excited for this opportunity to have more people exposed to my art!
