A few years ago I was introduced to the idea of a “gratitude rock”. First you find a rock that is interesting or attractive to you. You then place the rock by your bed on your nightstand and each night you hold the rock in your hands and think of as many things as you can that you are grateful for for that day. It really gets you into a positive mindset before going to bed and plants a seed that your life is abundant. The more you use your rock, the more your seeds will grow. You will find your attitude becoming more positive even in the daytime. Bad days become a little less heavy when you actively search for the good each night. Give it a try!

Is love worth a second chance? This piece from my popular Labor of Love series is titled “Second Chances”. These truly are a labor for me, but I love creating them. I have been in many relationships, both platonic and romantic where giving someone another break was warranted. Sometimes it was worthwhile as you watched the other person mature as a human being and become a true friend or loyal lover. Other times it resulted in only more disappointment and heartache. Real love is indeed hard to find. In friends or lovers it is elusive as so many people are either shallow, self hating or unwilling to be “real”. I believe in love and I believe in Second Chances. Third Chance?…….not likely. The last of my Labor of Love for now as a BRAND NEW series is coming tomorrow. I am pumped about it too!

When I first started selling my art, I remember being very insecure. It felt so vulnerable and raw to list a painting for sale. The fear of rejection was high. The thought of complete failure was ever present. But I decided it was worthwhile to pursue my dreams even if no one ever bought a single piece. Fortunately for me I got my art online when it was all new to everyone. There wasn’t a whole lot of competition and sales came easily. That was a relief! But what I found was that each and every listing still felt dicey. I was always “sticking my neck out”. You would think that with 10 plus solid years of consistent sales that those feelings would fade. That as an artist I would have complete confidence in my work. That every piece would feel like a winner. It isn’t so. To this day, every time I list new work I am waiting to exhale….
