Art isn’t about the destination….It’s about the journey.  My latest work titled “The Journey Home” is an acrylic painting in rich blues, greens, aqua and earthy browns. Go ahead and take the first step…

“Down The Rabbit Hole”

Mixed Media Collage Art

Sharon Cummings

Many years ago, I used to do this really cool collaboration work with other artists.  Each of us would take a few weeks collecting “stuff” to send to the other artist.  The challenge was that we had to create a mixed media piece using EVERYTHING the other artist sent.  You could add to it, but you could not leave anything that they sent out.  This piece is a result of an exchange of goodies with Canadian artist Geraldine Gracia.

No not entirely.  I could never do that!  I will continue to create new paintings and mixed media pieces until they pry the brush out of my gnarled hands!  New photography is also coming soon!

ONLY 11 “Pure Water” left…I sold 4 yesterday! 28 “Black Magic” remain…..All are O.R.I.G.I.N.A.L.S…..And S.I.G.N.E.D…..And they are ON SALE!! When they are gone, they are gone and no more will be created!

Over the years I have experimented with a variety of styles.  One of the greatest things about being an artist is that I have no boundaries for creative expression.  I can create something different every day!  I have developed a few signature styles in my art that I have not seen anyone successfully copy (it’s hard to copy someone else’s vision).  People recognize my Labor of Love, Stone Rock’d,  Pure Water and Black Magic the most.  But this style you see here is one of my favorites.  I call it “Natural Formations”.

My art often evolves as I am creating and it is as much a delight to me to see what happens as I move paint and water around as it is to my collectors to view it.  Deep Visions requires a lot of paint that is then sprayed and moved around with water.   Adding expensive inference paints to the mix gives a opulence that is just stunning. This style is reminiscent of coral reef…deep sea…underwater treasures.

I paint commission paintings, but no two could ever be exactly alike and that is what makes them so special. 🙂

I am offering one similar to the one posted here for 50% right now.  I rarely have sales on these, but I am itching to do more!  See it here:

I’ve got some “Black Magic” up my sleeves…..no spells to cast though.  These original art paintings have been one of my most popular styles in the last 10 years.  I love creating them but abhor photographing them.  The camera never captures their beauty.  They have a 3D look to them…like smoke….the camera sees too much in color blocks and the fine details are lost.  I have considered retiring these 3 times, but I always come back to them because I enjoy painting them so much and my collectors gobble them up.  The economical pricing sure helps too!  I’ve got some new ones coming….
