Working on some new pieces for my upcoming show.  My love of dogs makes painting them a natural to me.  It’s interesting as I am painting more on canvas again and scanning these…the canvas texture makes the image look a little blurry, but then I realized that I am comparing them to the ultra smooth perfect background of digital work.  See like I mentioned in a post a few days ago….it is VERY DIFFERENT!  But both are beautiful. 🙂  I hope you enjoy my dog art paintings as much as I enjoy making them.

Poor Dog

Our poor boy Toby has been on the equivalent of “bed rest” for the past 6 weeks.  He injured his back knee and the vet said no ball for 6 weeks.  Do you know how hard it is to not allow a retriever to retrieve?  He constantly grabs anything he can and brings it to us to throw for him.  We picked up and hid all of the balls, but he managed to find one out in the back yard (it’s a big 1 acre yard) and bring it to me this morning.  So desperate.  Only a few more days and dog nirvana will be his!
